New Mutations in Grow a Garden: Frozen, Tempestuous, Aromatic & More (2026)
Every mutation missing from most guides — Frozen, Tempestuous, Aromatic, Zombified, Junkshock, Sundried, Beanbound, Galactic, and Cloudtouched — with exact multipliers and how to get each one.
Most mutation lists you'll find only cover the mutations that have been around since launch. But Grow a Garden has kept adding new mutations through weather events, pet abilities, and limited-time events — and a handful of them are still missing from most guides entirely. This page covers nine of them: Frozen, Cloudtouched, Tempestuous, Aromatic, Zombified, Junkshock, Sundried, Beanbound, and Galactic.
For every other mutation and how stacking multiplies your crop's value, see the main Mutations Guide. To calculate an exact Sheckle value for a crop carrying any of these, use the Crop Value Calculator.
Quick Reference: All 9 Mutations at a Glance
| Mutation | Multiplier | How to Get It |
|---|---|---|
| Galactic | 120× | Space Travel weather event |
| Beanbound | 100× | Bean Aura event (4 players hold the Beanstalk together) |
| Sundried | 85× | Random chance during the Heatwave event |
| Junkshock | 45× | Junkbot Raid event |
| Zombified | 25× | Chicken Zombie pet (20% chance every 30 min) |
| Aromatic | 18× | Kitchen Storm event or Aromatic Pet Mutation Shard |
| Tempestuous | 12× | Automatic when a crop has Windstruck + Twisted + Sandy together |
| Frozen | 10× | Wet + Chilled together, or the Polar Bear pet |
| Cloudtouched | 5× | Hyacinth Macaw pet, or a Mutation Spray |
Remember: mutations multiply the crop's current value, not the base value. A crop that's already Wet (2×) and then goes Frozen (10×) isn't 12× — it's 20× combined, because Frozen's 10× applies on top of the Wet-adjusted value.
Frozen
Multiplier: 10×
Frozen gives a crop a translucent blue ice casing and multiplies its value by 10×. It isn't a random roll on its own — a crop becomes Frozen automatically once it already has both the Wet and Chilled mutations at the same time. The Polar Bear pet can also apply Frozen directly, skipping the two-mutation requirement.
Because Frozen depends on stacking two weather-driven mutations first, it shows up more often during long rain-into-cold-snap stretches, or whenever you're running a Polar Bear on your active pet lineup.
Cloudtouched
Multiplier: 5×
Cloudtouched wraps the crop in faint wisps of drifting cloud. It's applied by the Hyacinth Macaw pet, or by using a Mutation Spray directly on a crop. Unlike Frozen or Tempestuous, it doesn't require any prior mutation — it's a direct pet/item application, which makes it one of the more reliably farmable mutations on this list if you have either the pet or the spray.
Tempestuous
Multiplier: 12×
Tempestuous gives crops a swirling white wind-particle effect. It's a combo mutation — the game applies it automatically once a crop already carries the Windstruck, Twisted, and Sandy mutations simultaneously. All three have to land on the same crop before Tempestuous triggers.
That three-mutation requirement is what makes Tempestuous rarer than its 12× multiplier alone would suggest. Farming it means deliberately chasing conditions that favor Windstruck, Twisted, and Sandy at the same time rather than hoping for a single lucky roll.
Aromatic
Multiplier: 18× (raised from 15× after a balance patch)
Aromatic is a limited mutation introduced during the Kitchen Storm update — the second part of the game's Cooking Event. You can get it two ways:
- Kitchen Storm event — feed 40 food points worth of cooked items to the Chris P Bacon NPC to trigger it.
- Aromatic Pet Mutation Shard — has a 20% drop chance from the Rat Connoisseur NPC.
Because Aromatic's value was patched upward after launch, some older guides still list it at 15×. If you're trading an Aromatic crop, calculate with 18× to avoid underselling it.
Zombified
Multiplier: 25×
Zombified gives the crop a decayed, undead look and is applied entirely by the Chicken Zombie pet, which rolls a 20% chance every 30 minutes to mutate one of your crops. There's no weather or event requirement — just keep Chicken Zombie active in your lineup and let the timer run.
Junkshock
Multiplier: 45×
Junkshock is a limited-event mutation tied to the Junkbot Raid event. It isn't obtainable outside that event window, so if you're farming toward it, you need to have crops actively growing while Junkbot Raid is live.
Sundried
Multiplier: 85×
Sundried gives crops a sun-bleached, dried appearance and only occurs as a random chance during the Heatwave event. It's one of the few mutations on this list that can combine with another named mutation — Verdant — though if a crop also has Paradisal, both Sundried and Paradisal get removed.
A 200-Sheckle base crop with Sundried alone becomes 17,000 Sheckles; scale that to a high-base crop and the numbers get large fast, which is why Heatwave windows are worth actively farming rather than ignoring.
Beanbound
Multiplier: 100×
Beanbound is a cooperative-only mutation from the Bean Aura event: it requires four players simultaneously holding the Beanstalk together. You can't trigger it solo, so it's worth coordinating with friends or an active server group specifically when Bean Aura goes live.
Galactic
Multiplier: 120×
Galactic turns a crop light purple/pink with neon sparkle patches and only appears during the Space Travel weather event, when your garden plot effectively becomes a low-gravity spaceship scene. Galactic is also notable because it combines with Cosmic to form Astral — one of the highest-value mutations in the game — so if you're running Space Travel and already have Cosmic-mutated crops nearby, Galactic is the one to chase next.
FAQ
Are these mutations new additions to the game? They've each been added through specific weather events, pet abilities, or limited events rather than being available from launch — which is also why many mutation guides (including ours, until now) hadn't documented them yet.
Why do some sources list different multipliers for these? A few of these mutations were rebalanced after launch — Aromatic is the clearest example, patched from 15× to 18×. Guides that haven't been updated since the patch will still show the old number.
Can I get Frozen or Tempestuous without the exact prerequisite mutations? Frozen also has a direct route through the Polar Bear pet. Tempestuous currently has no shortcut — it requires Windstruck, Twisted, and Sandy on the same crop.
Which of these is easiest to farm consistently? Cloudtouched and Zombified, since both are direct pet applications with no prerequisite mutations or event windows required — just keep the relevant pet active.
How do I calculate the exact Sheckle value of a crop with one of these mutations? Use the Crop Value Calculator — it accounts for base crop value, weight, and every mutation multiplier stacked together.
